Sound on your terms.
Choose a background that feels comfortable. Sound is optional; you can practise with or without it.
Choose a local sound.
Open Sound, browse the local library and tap a sound to play it. Auris makes free sounds on your device instead of streaming a recording. Use the overall volume control and choose a stop timer of 10, 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or turn the timer off.
Start with your device volume low. A comfortable background does not need to cover tinnitus completely.
Build your own mix.
Tap Mix sounds, add up to five distinct local sounds, and move each Mix level slider to balance them. The main player keeps one overall volume and timer.
Name and save a mix to find it under Your mixes on the Sound screen. Tap a saved mix to play it, or delete it there. It stays in this browser for your signed-in account even after you sign out, until you delete the mix or your account. It does not sync to another device. The ready-made mixes in the library are separate single selections.
Use sound offline.
Install Auris while connected and open it once so the public offline page can be prepared. If your connection drops, that page offers the 22 free local sound environments, a five-layer mixer and the first guided practice. Offline mixes and practice do not silently sync to your account.
On iPhone or iPad, use Safari’s Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen. On supported browsers, use the Install Auris prompt when it appears.
About notched noise.
Experimental notched noise is a separate Premium option for someone with a previously matched steady tonal pitch. It needs its own setup and is not a layer in the custom mixer. You can use every other free local sound without it.
Pair sound with a skill.
Your path gives you a short practice for attention, worry, sleep and more.
